Regenerative Cell Treatment For Female Infertility

Strategies to overcome infertility with regenerative cells target the reasons of infertility based on femaleinfertility diagnosis of poor ovarian reserve, Asherman syndrome, and endometrium thinning after assessment of infertility symptoms. Nowadays, many couples in developed countries are facing issues in treatment of female infertility.Earlier the issues leading to female infertility diagnosis were not clearly known but with extensive research, scientists are exploiting new treatments of female infertility using autologous transplant/allogenic transplant for adipose-derived mesenchymal stromal cells treatment and bone marrow stromal cells treatment. This new insight on treatment of female infertility has helped in identifying the potential to overcome infertility with regenerative cells, primarily using autologous regenerative cell transplant in form of hematopoietic regenerative cell transplant or mesenchymal stromal cells treatment.

Some Common Problems in Female Infertility

Asherman’s syndrome (intrauterine adhesions) is an acquired condition, characterized with the fibrous scarring inside the uterine cavity. These adhesions can result in the obstruction of intrauterine cavities and cervical canal. Some of the commonly noted symptoms of Asherman’s syndrome are reduced menstrual flow, pelvic pain, and infertility.

Incidence: In infertile female populations the prevalence of Asherman’s syndrome varies from 2.8% to 46%.

The preparation of the endometrium tissue for receiving embryo is associated with a period of hyperproliferation and angiogenesis in the uterus. The endometrial thickness expands by 5–7 mm in each menstrual cycle and a great amount of tissue remodeling, growth factor secretion, and endothelial sprouting occur in a tightly regulated manner. Endometrial thinning in the uterus is considered as a critical factor in embryo implantation failure and pregnancy rates have been reported to decrease in case of inadequate endometrial thickness.
